Experience

Daniel started his career in 2009 as a software engineering manager at MiPlata, a financial and transactional services start-up in Bogota, Colombia. There, he managed a development team that worked in close collaboration with a subsidiary of mobile phones distributor Brightstar Corporation.

Daniel served as a liaison between operations, sales, marketing, and top management to provide MiPlata with mission-critical operational and transactional data. He also implemented a customer relationship management program. Additionally, he designed and maintained a data warehouse that served as the basis of a business intelligence solution for a mobile payments platform.

In 2016, he moved to Miami, FL, to work as an operations manager for Consulta Plus, LLC, a business consulting firm based in Miami, FL that provides assistance to small- and medium-sized businesses, minority-owned enterprises, and Latin American companies. 

Daniel led Consulta Plus’ acquisition of a new credit line that doubled the company's lending capacity, which was fundamental to its operational expansion. He streamlined the finance operation process workflow.

He streamlined the finance operation process workflow, implementing key factors that reduced the time needed to produce all the documentation for its finance operations. He also managed the day-to-day operations of underwriting, structuring, and servicing account receivable invoices acquired from General Electric Healthcare for the sale of medical equipment to their distributors in Latin America.

The following year, Daniel accepted a position as a business advisor with Grupo Mezerhane. At this major real estate development company in Miami Beach, he evaluated potential investments and recommended new business opportunities to firm leaders.

He led a team tasked with identifying business opportunities for Coltefinanciera Bank in its payment operation services that resulted in the creation of PayCol. Daniel created a business strategy for PayCol and coordinated several cross-project initiatives using the strong relationships he had built with stakeholders. In September 2021, Daniel joined the Vaster team as a product manager. His exceptional business strategy and management skills will come to good use among the individuals, mortgage brokers, and realtors the company serves. 

Education

Daniel graduated in 2010 from Universidad Metropolitana in Barranquilla, Colombia, with a degree in Systems Engineering. He graduated five years later with an MBA from IE Business School in Madrid, Spain. 

Daniel's Work at Vaster

Daniel’s background as a systems engineer and MBA graduate allow him to use his highly-technical skills in strategy, business development, and technological expertise as a product manager at Vaster.  Proactive and analytical, Daniel focuses his energies on generating value, especially when it comes to conceptualizing, structuring, and executing systems and products that effectively position Vaster as a mortgage company that leverages technology to streamline the entire loan process from end-to-end.
